Ever wondered what's coming up in class, or whether a topic has been covered yet? The Outline tab shows the whole course for a class — every unit, topic and objective — and how far the class has got. It updates as your teacher plans and teaches lessons, so it's always current.
Open the course outline
- Sign in to the MySchool portal and open the class.
- Choose the Outline tab (next to Classwork).
What you'll see
The summary
At the top: the course title and grade, the percentage of the course covered, and how many objectives are Covered, Planned and Remaining.
Units
Below the summary, each unit shows its term, its topics and its own percentage covered. Select a unit to open it and see its topics, the lessons planned for each topic, and its objectives.
Objective status
Each objective is marked with one of these:
- Covered — covered in a lesson
- Planned — planned for an upcoming lesson
- Carried forward — moved to a later lesson
- Not started
Find what you need
- Use the filters to show All units, or only those In progress, Completed or Upcoming.
- Turn objectives on or off to see just the units and topics.
- Expand every unit at once, or print the outline.
Tips
- Revising for a test? Open the unit and look at the Covered objectives — that's what you've been taught.
- Missed school? Check which objectives were covered while you were away, then catch up with the class's Classwork.
- Parents: the outline is a good conversation starter — ask about the unit that's in progress this week.
Common questions
It says "No course outline published yet".
The class hasn't been linked to a curriculum yet. Once the school publishes one for the subject and grade, the outline appears here automatically.
Can I see my teacher's lesson plans?
You'll see the title and dates of lessons placed in each topic, but not the plans themselves.
The percentage hasn't moved.
The outline updates when your teacher marks objectives as covered in their lesson plans. Check back after the lesson.
