Making Grade-10/11 subject selection painless for schools, parents — and students.
Why we built it
Every season, Secondary schools chase hundreds of students for their Grade-10/11 option sheets. Paper forms go missing, subject clashes are discovered late, and administrators spend nights keying everything back into MySchool. The new Course-Management module eliminates the guess-work by bringing the whole process inside the portal your community already uses.
Old way | With the new module |
Printed option sheet → homeroom teacher → HOD → data clerk | Student (or parent) logs in, picks subjects that fit published blocks |
Manual checks for seat limits and tutor clashes | Real-time seat counter + schedule-grid warns immediately |
Weeks to collate, reorder, and publish class lists | One click exports a clean enrollment list, class rosters, and timetables |
Core features
- Digital Course Catalogue
- Code, title, credits, department & description in one searchable list.
- Printable or downloadable as PDF for parent consultations
- Offerings Planner (Admin / Teachers)
- Create sections for a term, set capacity, assign room & teacher.
- Reusable schedule grid (Mon-Fri × Period 1-8) with clash detection.
- Self-Enrollment Portal (Students / Parents)
- Two-pane view: Available Offerings ↔ My Courses.
- Filters by year/term, live seat counts, keyboard navigation.
- Calendar icon pops up the section’s schedule; plus/minus icons add or drop.
- Automatic Grade-Book & Classroom linking
- When a teacher creates a grade-sheet, the system now offers the list of course sections they teach; it auto-generates a placeholder ClassId (e.g., ENG101.GW.25.1) and syncs the enrollment list to the grade-sheet.
- Audit-Safe Enrollment History
- “Withdraw” never deletes; it just changes status, so reports always show who dropped/added and when.

Seat Capacity vs Actual (top-N offerings) | Quickly add extra sections where capacity is red-lining. |
Conflict Matrix (student-level) | Lists learners who selected subjects that clash in the current timetable blocks. |
Withdrawn vs Re-Enrolled Trend | Shows churn—useful for pastoral teams to follow up. |
Teacher Load Summary | Total sections & enrolled headcount per teacher for workforce planning. |
