After more than two decades of service, MySchool

The desktop version has done its time, and
done it well. Now it is time to embrace the
web platform built for the next chapter.

Dear Valued Customer,
We are writing to share an important platform
update for all schools using MySchool Jamaica.
The desktop version of the product, accessed
as a hosted Remote App through Azure Virtual
Desktop, will officially reach end of life
on August 31, 2026.
This bulletin is intended to help principals,
senior managers, bursars, registrars, office
staff, and teachers understand what is changing,
what remains the same, and how to prepare
your team for the move to the web application.

A respectful goodbye to a trusted desktop companion
For over 20 years, the desktop
version of MySchool Jamaica
has been part of the daily
rhythm of school administration.
It has supported registration
seasons, report preparation,
grade entry, billing cycles,
student records, office routines,
and many moments that mattered
to schools across Jamaica.
We acknowledge the affection,
familiarity, and confidence
many users developed with
the desktop application.
For some teams, it was more
than a piece of software;
it became a trusted work
companion. We are grateful
for the loyalty and the bonds
created with that version
of the product.
At the same time, every strong
platform must evolve. The
desktop app has served its
purpose faithfully. Its season
has come to a close, and
the future of MySchool Jamaica
is now fully on the web.

What is changing?
The hosted
desktop Remote
App will
retire on
August 31, 2026.
After this
date, the
web application
at myschooljamaica.com
becomes the
official
platform
for daily
MySchool
Jamaica operations.
Schools should
begin using
the web application
as their
primary access
point now,
so staff
can become
comfortable
before the
new school
year is fully
underway.
|
|
What remains the same?
All features
from the
desktop version
have been
moved to
the web application.
The usernames
and passwords
previously
used to access
the Remote
App remain
the same
for the web
application.
Staff can
sign in at
myschooljamaica.com
using their
existing
credentials.

|
|
Why the move is necessary
The way schools work has
changed. School leaders,
bursars, registrars, teachers,
and parents now expect systems
that are modern, browser-based,
easier to access, and ready
for current devices. A hosted
desktop app had its place
and served schools well for
many years, but it is no
longer the best foundation
for the future of MySchool
Jamaica.
Modern access
The web
application
works
through
the browser
and is
easier
to access
from
modern
desktops,
laptops,
tablets,
and supported
devices.
|
Less complexity
Teams
no longer
need
to rely
on a
Remote
App experience
for regular
daily
access
to MySchool
Jamaica.
|
Faster improvement
New improvements,
refinements,
and future
features
are easier
to deliver
through
the web
platform.
|
Better long-term support
A single
web platform
makes
support,
training,
documentation,
and school
onboarding
more
consistent
for everyone.

A message to long-time desktop users
Change can feel uncomfortable,
especially when a tool has
been part of the school office
for many years. We understand
that some users may miss
the look and feel of the
desktop version. That is
natural.
But this move is not about
leaving users behind. It
is about giving every school
a stronger, simpler, and
more modern platform for
the work ahead. The web application
carries forward the features
schools depend on, while
creating the space for better
access, better support, and
continued improvement.
We invite every user to embrace
the change, explore the web
application, and take this
next step with us. The desktop
version helped build the
journey. The web application
is where the journey continues.
